The Crypto Volatility Index (CVI) has recently undergone a revamp, transitioning from “CVOL” token to “CVI” token. Due to the trademark of CVOL already being owned by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc, one of the best-known and most highly regarded securities and derivatives exchanges in the United States. As well as the belief that $CVI better represents the token’s role and function within the CVI ecosystem.
The CVI platform allows traders to track market volatility and make trades using volatility tokens, such as the $CVI token and in the future $UCVI. The $CVI token is designed to provide instant access to crypto volatility and is decentralized, permissionless, and can be traded around the clock. It is not designed to be a long-term investment but rather a tool for traders to express their short-term market sentiment.
In addition to the $CVI token, the CVI ecosystem also includes the governance token $GOVI. $GOVI token holders have a number of benefits, including participating in platform fee allocation, governance voting, and yields from platform fees. $GOVI can be viewed as a utility token given the residual benefits that CVI community members receive from holding the token, providing residual benefits to holders as the platform continues to grow and accumulate fees.
There will be no changes to the $GOVI token symbol, and new tokenomics will be released shortly.
In conclusion, the rebranding of the $CVOL token to the $CVI token will serve to better represent the token’s role within the CVI ecosystem and to provide a clearer understanding of its purpose to traders. Both $CVI and $GOVI offer unique opportunities for traders and investors to participate in the crypto market and benefit from its growth.
