TL;DR Requirements
- A MetaMask wallet
- Your MetaMask ETH address
- kETH to transact on the Kovan testnet
- Test USDT for test trading on CVI
- A Telegram account
Step 1
Download, install and set up your MetaMask wallet. You can follow the video below if you haven’t used MetaMask before.
Step 2
Open your MetaMask wallet, select the Kovan Test Network from the top dropdown menu.
Step 3
In your MetaMask wallet, scroll down to “Add Token” and choose the “Custom Token” tab. In the “Token Contract Address” field, add in this address — 0xd75A85BeF87E6524f3ba342ebf890f99E95e4768 then click “Next” and “Add Token”.
Step 4
Copy your ETH address from the top section of your MetaMask wallet.
Step 5
Go to kETH CVI Faucet Telegram group and paste in the ETH address from Step 4. You will then be sent kETH which will allow you to transact on the Kovan network and the CVI website. You will receive your kETH in approx 60 minutes.
You can check if you have received your kETH by either checking your MetaMask wallet or by going to https://kovan.etherscan.io and entering in your ETH address in the “Search” field.
Step 6
Navigate to the CVI website at https://cvi.finance. Click on the “Connect Wallet” button on the top right of the screen, select MetaMask and confirm the connection on the MetaMask popup.
Step 7
You can now click on the “Receive USDT” button on the website. This will transfer test USDT to your MetaMask ETH address to allow you to make test trades on CVI. You will need to confirm the transaction in MetaMask after hitting the “Receive USDT” button.
Step 8
Once the transaction is confirmed, you will see your USDT balance updated on the CVI website.
You can also check if you have received your test USDT by either checking your MetaMask wallet or by going to https://kovan.etherscan.io and entering in your ETH address in the “Search” field.
Remember, the test USDT tokens you’ve received can only be claimed once and can only be used on the CVI platform!
